Safeflow couplings are worth the extra cost anywhere an operator disconnects airlines regularly; a standard coupling under pressure can whip or drop suddenly on disconnection, while a safety coupling bleeds pressure first. Check your existing fittings before mixing standard and safety couplings on the same line, since the disconnection behaviour differs between them.
