Oil & Fuel Hose
An oil and fuel hose is built to handle petroleum products, hydraulic fluids, and lubricants without degrading from the inside out. The Hosemaster stocks rubber and specialist compound hose for diesel, petrol, hydraulic oil, and general oil transfer in a range of bore sizes and pressure ratings.
We stock fuel hoses with a range of reinforcement options, including high tensile steel cord, steel wire, and PVC spiral. You’ll also find a selection of braided fuel lines with wide operating temperature ranges.

Load moreWhy Oil and Fuel Hose Specification Matters
Use the wrong hose with fuel or oil, and the consequences tend to be expensive or dangerous. Hydrocarbons degrade rubber compounds that aren't formulated for them. The bore swells, the wall softens, and you get either a failure or contamination of the fluid being transferred. This is one category where the cheapest option is usually the most expensive in the long run.
For diesel and petrol applications, look for a hose with a nitrile inner bore. Nitrile has good resistance to petroleum products and is the standard choice for fuel lines, tank connections, and transfer applications. For hydraulic systems, the pressure rating and the hose construction type matter as much as the material; a hydraulic hose running at 250 bar needs to be built for it. Learn more in our guide: Everything You Need to Know About Hydraulic Hoses.
Temperature also comes into it. Engine bay applications and anything near heat sources need a hose that won't soften or crack under elevated temperatures. Check the maximum working temperature on the product data before you order.
We stock oil and fuel hose in standard lengths and by the metre, with a range of end fittings available separately. Assemblies can also be supplied with ends fitted.
Orders over £200 to England and Wales qualify for free delivery, with same-day dispatch on most in-stock lines.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes oil and fuel hose different from standard hose?
The inner bore is formulated to resist hydrocarbon degradation. Standard rubber hose will swell and deteriorate when exposed to oil or fuel. Oil and fuel hoses use nitrile or similar compounds that hold up.
Can I use the same hose for petrol and diesel?
Most nitrile-bore hose is rated for both. Check the product specification to confirm the approved media before use.
What pressure rating do I need for a hydraulic hose?
Match or exceed the maximum working pressure of your hydraulic system. Factor in pressure spikes; most systems see short bursts above the rated operating pressure. Learn more in our guide: Everything You Need to Know About Hydraulic Hoses.
How often should I replace the fuel hose?
Inspect annually as a minimum. Visible cracking, swelling, softness, or fuel smell from the outside of the hose are all signs it needs replacing. Learn more in our guide: Oil & Fuel Hoses: Essential Maintenance and Safety Tips.
