A food or beverage manufacturing line rarely runs on one type of hose. Do I need food-grade hose for every line on a production floor?

No. Only hose in direct or incidental contact with the food or drink product needs to be food-grade. Compressed air lines, general water supply and non-contact pneumatics can run on standard industrial hose.

What compliance standards apply to food and beverage manufacturing hose?

FDA 21 CFR applies in the US; EC 1935/2004 is the relevant standard in the UK and EU. WRAS approval is separately required for hose used in drinking water supply.
