Hose coupling systems for industrial and agricultural use

A hose coupling does one thing: it lets you connect and disconnect a hose line quickly and reliably. The coupling profile — the physical shape and lock mechanism — determines which fittings will mate with each other, which means the first question on any coupling selection is always compatibility with the equipment you are connecting to.

The range here covers the main coupling standards used in UK industrial and agricultural work. Air couplings (also called quick-release couplings) are the default for compressed air lines in workshop and light industrial settings. Water couplings cover standard hose-to-hose and hose-to-tap connections. Bauer couplings are the heavy-duty agriculture and civil engineering standard — lever-locked, large bore, handling high flow rates. Cam and groove (camlock) couplings are the standard for bulk liquid transfer and tanker work. Instantaneous couplings are the fire service standard, used on fire hoses and associated equipment.

Within most coupling types, there are multiple profiles. Air couplings alone include BSP, Euro, Orion and other profiles that are not cross-compatible. If you are adding to an existing system, identify the profile in use before ordering — buying the wrong profile means the coupling will not engage.
