Sandblast & Media Hose
Sandblast and media blast hoses take constant abrasive wear from the inside, from grit, sand, steel shot, and other blast media moving at high velocity through the bore. The Hosemaster stocks heavy-duty blast hose with thick abrasion-resistant inner walls built for this specific duty. Free England and Wales shipping on orders over £200.

Why Sandblast Hose Is Not a Standard Hose Application
Put a standard air hose on a sandblasting rig, and it won't last long. The abrasive media, whether that's silica sand, garnet, steel grit, or glass bead, eats through an ordinary rubber bore in short order. The sandblast hose is built with a much thicker inner wall in a wear-resistant compound, specifically to extend service life under that kind of punishment.
The bore thickness and compound hardness are the key variables. Harder compounds resist wear better but can be less flexible. Thicker walls last longer but add weight and reduce flexibility. The right choice depends on the media type, blast pressure, and how the hose is routed on your rig. Read more in our article: A Guide to Selecting the Right Sandblast Hose.
Connection points are where the blast hose tends to fail first; the coupling takes most of the movement and stress. Check fittings regularly and replace them before the hose itself fails at the end.
Safety matters here too. High-pressure compressed air carrying abrasive media is genuinely dangerous if a hose fails under load. Use a hose that's rated for the working pressure of your system, fit whip checks at connections, and inspect before each use.
We stock sandblast hose in standard bore sizes and lengths.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a standard air hose for sandblasting?
No. A standard air hose isn't built for abrasive media and will fail quickly. You need a hose with a thick abrasion-resistant bore rated for blast applications.
What bore size do I need for a sandblast hose?
Most commercial sandblast equipment uses 19mm (3/4") or 25mm (1") bore hose. Check your equipment specification for the correct size.
How do I know when to replace a sandblast hose?
Inspect the outer jacket for soft spots, bulges, or wear through. At the couplings, check for leakage or movement. Internally, light shining through a worn bore is a clear sign it needs replacing.
What blast media is the hose rated for?
Check the product data for the specific hose. Most sandblast hose handles sand, garnet, and similar media. Steel shot and angular grit are more aggressive; confirm compatibility.
