Brass and aluminium manifolds for multi-circuit distribution
A manifold takes one supply and distributes it to multiple outlets — it is a neater, more controlled solution than a sequence of tee fittings, and it puts all your connection points in one accessible location.
Brass manifolds are the standard choice for compressed air and water distribution in most industrial and workshop settings. Aluminium manifolds are used where weight is a factor or where the installation needs a cleaner appearance — garage workshops and tooling setups, for example.
The number of outlets determines which manifold you need. Most are fixed, but if your circuit is likely to change, it is worth considering whether a blanking plug on a spare port gives you the flexibility you need without having to replace the whole manifold.
Thread sizes on the ports are typically BSP. Check the port thread size against your existing fittings and hose assemblies before ordering — a mismatch here means either adaptors or a different manifold, and adaptors in a compressed air system are potential leak points.
If you need a manifold configuration that is not in the standard range, contact the team. Bespoke manifolds are available for larger orders.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a manifold used for?
A manifold takes a single supply input and distributes it to multiple outlets, all within one fitting body. It is used in compressed air systems, hydraulic circuits and water distribution where multiple tools or branch lines need to be fed from one source.
What is the difference between brass and aluminium manifolds?
Brass manifolds are more robust and are the standard choice for industrial and workshop applications. Aluminium manifolds are lighter and are often used in workshop tooling setups or where a cleaner appearance is preferred. Both are suitable for compressed air and water at standard working pressures.
Can I blank off unused ports on a manifold?
Yes. Unused ports can be sealed with a suitable BSP plug. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape appropriate to the medium.
Do you deliver manifolds near me?
Yes. We deliver across England and Wales with free delivery on orders over £200. Single units are fine — no minimum order applies.
